Creating a Culture of Belonging: A Chapter’s Focus on Diversity & Inclusion (New York Metro)

Back to Package

Global events make an indelible impact on the New York Metro Chapter. The story of their journey towards addressing inclusivity in their design community is only just beginning.

In the wake of George Floyd’s murder in May 2020, ASID NY Metro chapter took a moment to listen, reflect and take inventory of their participation in the issue of racism within the design industry, within the chapter. From this was born the first Diversity and Inclusion Committee within the ASID community. Join us, the ASID NY Metro D&I Committee, as we share our story, what we’ve learned so far and how we would like to empower all the chapters to work towards change too.
