Alexa Fombrun, Allied ASID

Freelance Interior Designer

Alexa Fombrun graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design in May 2020. She was recently selected as one of three winners in this year’s nationwide ASID Student Portfolio Competition. From a very young age, Alexa’s greatest passion has been for the world of design and creativity. She believes that the built environment should be inclusive and speak to the needs of every human being with close consideration of the mind and the body.

Jessica W.L. Ma, Student ASID

Student, Savannah College of Art and Design

Jessica W.L. Ma dreamed of being an artist as a child. After starting her studies in the medical world, she returned to her initial artistic goals in 2017 and began school at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). During her studies, Jessica immersed herself with inspiring design thinkers and cultivated her inner artistic passion for creating impactful experiences in the world around her. As a thinker, maker and designer, Jessica is excited by the changes that design and innovation can impart on the future of the world.  

Mona Nahm, Allied ASID, LEED BD+C, WELL AP

Mona holds an MFA in Interior Design from the New York School of Interior Design. She also has a BFA in Film Production from Loyola Marymount University and an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA. Prior to changing her career, she worked as a production designer for independent films. However, she made the leap to change her career because she wanted to design diverse and inclusive spaces that could directly impact communities and respond to our current economic and environmental pressures.

Matthew De Geeter, ASID, Vice President, Education and Engagement, joined headquarters staff at the American Society of Interior Designers in 2013, bringing his background as a professional interior designer at a top-tier, international firm and as a past student, chapter, and national volunteer leader of ASID to develop meaningful experiences. Matthew delivers the value proposition of engaging with ASID through on-demand and live learning opportunities, award programs, and member benefits by mapping together the perspectives of audiences including students, educators, practitioners, and partners. The portfolio of ASID programs are positioned to build individual’s skills, celebrate the positive impact of design, and support business needs.
