Christine Abbate
Founder and CEO, Novità Communications
Chris Abbate is the founder of Novità Communications, a 29-year-old PR, marketing and social media firm focused on the A+D and lifestyle space with a specialty in sustainability and wellness. Novità is part of a network of global agency partners and has garnered recognition on the Inc. Best Workplaces List, PR News’ Agency Elite Top 100, The PR Net 100, & Observer Top 50 US PR Agency list, and was awarded Marketer of the Year for the Best of Year Awards by Interior Design in 2020. Bilingual in Italian, Chris was the Director of Marketing for the Italian Tile Center of the Italian Trade Commission before founding Novità, and continues to advise and represent the Italian ceramic industry. She has extensive experience promoting domestic and international design and architectural products, designers/architects and high-profile design events including NeoCon, Salone del Mobile.Milano, NYCxDESIGN, Cersaie, Coverings, and the US Pavilion at four Venice Architectural Biennales, including the upcoming 2025 Biennale. She was a co-creator of the US Pavilion RECKONstruct at the Triennale Museum in Milan, co-founded the DesignStandsTogether and Design-Calendar platforms, created the MilanDesign Map and America Night in Milan, represents the American Society of Interior Designers, is on the Steering Committee of NYCxDESIGN, is a board trustee for DIFFA, is on the Advisory Board of NeoCon, and and regularly speaks on design, media and marketing. Most recently she created the Business Impact Awards at NeoCon securing top business media jurors and serving as a juror in the Interieurs Design Awards in Montreal and the CID Awards.
Lindsey Koren, ASID Affiliate

Lindsey Koren is Director of Communications at ASID. Lindsey brings over 15 years of experience in strategic communications to her role. Prior to joining ASID, Lindsey spent the bulk of her career at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, where she was part of the inaugural team who managed publicity and steered strategic communications development for the grand opening of the prominent institution on the National Mall. She was the recipient of a PRSA Silver Anvil award in 2017 for her work at the Museum. Lindsey’s academic background is in journalism. Originally from Baltimore, Md., she studied print and sports broadcast journalism at the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism, before going on to work in Washington at NBC4 in the George Michael Sports Machine. Outside of her day job, Lindsey works as a part-time yoga instructor at American University, near her home in Washington, D.C.
