FAQ's

We are excited to have you at SCALE: The ASID National Student Summit, hosted in downtown Washington, D.C. at the Mayflower Hotel. Below are a few questions we thought you might ask. If we didn't cover something, or if you still have questions, feel free to contact us!

Who is ASID?

ASID is the largest, and only, multi-disciplinary professional organization for interior designers, interior design students, and the manufacturers and suppliers who support the profession.

The rich, vibrant history of the organization goes back to the founding of its predecessor organizations, the American Institute of Interior Designers (AID) and the National Society of Interior Designers (NSID).

More information can be found here.

What COVID protocols will be in place at the event?

The health and safety of our SCALE attendees in our top priority. Throughout the event, our team will be following the recommendations of the CDC, District of Columbia, and Marriott with several protocols, including social distancing, mandatory face masks, and limited capacity to name a few. ASID will update these protocols as recommendations change.  Additionally, all SCALE participants must agree to the Event Safety Guidelines & Procedures when registering.

 What should I wear?

Dress as the best version of yourself – be confident and professional in your attire. As an attendee, you will network with top professionals, industry representatives, media, and educators. So be sure to represent yourself well; there’s a big chance you’ll meet a future employer. It will likely still be hot in D.C., but event rooms can get cold, so have a jacket or blazer on hand.

When I arrive, where do I go?

ASID will open the Welcome Center on Friday, September 10 starting at 9:00 a.m. for attendees to pick up their badges. The Welcome Center is located at the Grand Ballroom Foyer on the lobby level of The Mayflower Hotel.
